Why German is so important?

Germany has a rich cultural heritage. Before the late 19th century, Germany was a collection of individual fiefdoms and regions. This history is reflected in the country's cultural diversity.

Why Should I Learn About German Culture?
The reasons for learning about German culture and German life are the same as for learning the culture of any language group. Learning German language and culture is useful to:
* broaden personal knowledge
* make yourself more marketable at work by speaking a foreign language
* increase career prospects
* help you get around when on holiday.

What About Business?
Learning about German culture is also essential for those who travel to Germany on business. There are many courses designed to help business people learn cultural customs and language relating doing business in Germany. These courses cover areas such as:
* meetings
* negotiations and deals
* telephone conversations
* making presentations
* travel vocabulary
* money and banking
* the business environment

How Can I Learn About German Culture?
One of the best ways to learn about German culture is to travel in Germany. Travel is a good way of learning about the cultural traditions of cities as diverse as Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin and many others. These cities showcase aspects of German culture such as museums, beer, wine and food festivals, theatre and music, and so on.

Another useful way of learning about German culture is to study in Germany. Study in Germany allows students to appreciate German culture from the inside. Not only will people learn the German language from native speakers, but they will have the chance to share social and cultural events with native speakers of German. This is an excellent method of learning about German culture and language.

What Do Courses In German Culture Cover?
Courses in German culture will cover areas such as history, geography, music, dance, literature and the arts in general. Other aspects of German culture include food and drink. Studying German culture is a key aspect of learning German, as language and culture go hand in hand.

Other Options For Learning German Culture
Another way of learning about German culture is to take part in an exchange program. This has the benefit of immersing the learner in the German language in a home setting. This makes it easy to learn everyday language for daily communication and provides an inside view of German culture. Exchange programs can range from a few weeks to nearly a year. Some students taking German in other countries find this a useful addition to their language courses. Those students may choose to teach their native language in return for the chance to live in and travel through Germany.

Once you have learned about German language and culture, you'll be ready to travel not just in Germany but in countries such as Austria, Switzerland, and parts of the US and South America where German is still spoken.

Finding a University Abroad: First Steps

If you've decided you want to study abroad but haven't really got further than that, read our guide to making those all-important first steps.

There is no one size that fits all when it comes to university, so it’s important you consider your own priorities, interests and abilities first.

What are your reasons for studying abroad? What are your priorities in a university? What languages are you comfortable in and what are your longer-term study or professional objectives?

Are there any academic or cultural considerations more important to you? Have you got strong extra-curricular interests? What kind of lifestyle do you want?

And of course, how are you going to finance your studies? Do you need to search for a more affordable study destination, or find a university which offers financial assistance?

Armed with a vision of what you are aiming for, you need to set about researching countries, universities and courses on offer. There's no single list of all the thousands of universities in the world, but there are a few places you can start - including international and regional rankings. If you know what subject you want to study, the QS World University Rankings by Subject may also be useful.

Fundamental to studying abroad must be the desire to spend time in another country. If you can shortlist or identify your country, then you have a starting point for identifying possible universities to apply to.

Once you have selected a list of countries, you can identify some of the national organizations, such as UCAS in the UK, who can point you in the right direction for providers of scholarships and further information to refine your search.

When searching worldwide for a university that is right for you, there is no substitute for coming face-to-face with people from that university. Clearly it will often not be feasible to actually visit the university before applying. However, each university has an alumni association, often with an international network, so try to identify alumni who may be willing and able to meet you closer to home and give you that all-important feel of what it’s like to actually study at their university.

The QS World University Tour and World Grad School Tour also provide opportunities to meet a broad selection of university representatives from around the world, in a location close to you.

Finally, essential to finding the university and course which are right for you is to keep an open mind. Identify your priorities, research your options and talk to people - but always stay open to new suggestions, just in case there's something you missed. You are about to embark on one of the most exciting and important experiences of your life. Let the search begin!

please i want to get admission into university of finland or norway universities,how can i get student visa and application form from the schools?
i will be expecting your replies
thanks for your corporation
